Reverse Osmosis
Reverse osmosis is an effective water purification process when mineral-free water is the desired end product. Most mineral constituents of water are physically larger than water molecules, thus they are rejected by the semi-permeable membrane and removed from drinking water when filtered through a reverse osmosis system. Such undesirable contaminants include chlorine, salt, lead, manganese, iron and calcium. Reverse osmosis systems will also remove some chemical components from drinking water including fluoride, arsenic, aluminum, cadmium, cyanide, copper, mercury, nitrates, phosphates, nickel, iron and zinc.

Water Softeners
Water softeners use high quality cation exchange resin to remove hardness from both city and well water.
We call water "hard" if it has excessive amounts of calcium or magnesium dissolved in it. Hard water can cause problems in the home:
How it works: the calcium and magnesium ions in the water are replaced with sodium ions. Since sodium does not precipitate out in pipes when heated or react negatively with soap, both of the above problems of hard water are eliminated, leaving you with luxurious soft water!
Refiners
Refiners are designed to treat municipal water by removing both hardness and chlorine with a mixed bed of cation resin and granular activated carbon.
Chlorine is used primarily as a disinfectant and is often added to public water supplies. It is therefore ingested via tap water and may be inhaled and absorbed through the skin during showering.
Chlorine can be harmful because it reacts with other naturally-occurring elements such as leaves and vegetation to form trihalomethanes, known carcinogens.

Iron/Sulfur Filter
This filter system will remove clear water iron, red water iron, hydrogen sulfide and manganese from your water. The system uses a greensand media which first oxidizes and then filters out the iron and sulfur. It uses a potassium permanganate solution to restore the oxidizing powers of the greensand.
Sulfur is notable for its peculiar (rotten egg) odor.
